The opening ceremony for the professional training program for accreditors, aimed at cadres, lecturers, and staff enrolled in the K2024 – Batch 5 course.

On the morning of November 10, 2024, the VNU-HCM Center for Education Accreditation (VNU-HCM CEA) hosted the opening ceremony for the professional training program for accreditors, aimed at cadres, lecturers, and staff enrolled in the K2024 – Batch 5 course. The event took place at the VNU-HCM Administration House.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of VNU-HCM; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, VNU-HCM; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen, a member of the Education Quality Accreditation Council.

From the VNU-HCM CEA’s side, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director, and Ms. Vo Thi Trong Nhan, Deputy Head of the Service Department and Deputy Chief of the VNU-HCM CEA’s Office, were present, along with more than 62 lecturer enrolled in the professional training program for accreditors.

In her speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai emphasized the significance of educational quality assurance and accreditation. She highlighted that these processes are not only effective tools for evaluating, monitoring, and maintaining certain standards in training and university administration but also play a crucial role in ensuring and continuously improving quality in the context of international integration and the country’s sustainable development. She remarked, “With a sense of responsibility and more than 10 years of experience in organizing such initiatives, VNU-HCM and VNU-HCM CEA will continue to offer effective training courses. These will provide expertise, professionalism, and create opportunities for lecturer to meet the requirements of implementing educational quality assurance and accreditation at their institutions. Furthermore, they will help lecturer prepare for the accreditation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, enabling them to become professional and responsible assessors.”

In response to these expectations, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam shared insights into the objectives, content, and value of the course. She noted that the training would provide in-depth knowledge, practical skills, and updates on the latest regulations regarding educational quality assurance and accreditation. Currently, the number of assessors nationwide remains limited, which creates challenges in the accreditation process. The VNU-HCM CEA hopes that the lecturer attending the course will actively engage in lectures and internships to build their knowledge and experience, preparing them for the Ministry of Education and Training’s qualifying exam to become assessors and contribute to the development of education. Associate Professor Dr. Lam also expressed gratitude to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen, and the attendees for their time and participation in the opening ceremony.

The course offers engaging content, with topics delivered by experienced lecturers in the field of education. Participants will gain knowledge about the accreditation process and develop skills to address real-life challenges in educational quality accreditation. Additionally, the training program provides opportunities for participants to interact, exchange experiences, and learn from experts and peers in the field. This will form a solid foundation for lecturers to contribute to the overall development of their institutions.

The course will run from November to December .
