The Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City continues to participate in phase 2 of the Plan to strengthen assurance and accreditation of education quality activities towards the international integration.
Following the success of phase 1 of the project “Strengthening assurance and accreditation of education quality of Vietnamese higher education towards the international integration” taking place in 2023, the British Council continues to coordinate with the Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to implement phase 2 of the project.
In phase 1 of the project, CEA-HCM participated in providing self-assessment information based on a reference framework developed by experts from the the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), United Kingdom in collaboration with Vietnamese consultants. The reference framework includes 8 areas and 56 criteria built on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), aiming to compare external quality assurance methods applied in Vietnam and the UK.
In phase 2, CEA-HCM will actively participate in activities within the project framework and send experts to join the core expert group to carry out the tasks of the Project. It is known that the core expert group includes 09 Vietnamese experts, including 03 members from CEA-HCM.
The “Training to enhance capacity on assurance and accreditation of education quality of higher education” program taking place on March 13 and 14, 2024 in Hanoi is the kick-off activity for phase 2 of the plan. The training workshop was conducted by experts from the QAA with the participation of 9 experts, assessors and 16 delegates from the Education Quality Management Agency, higher education institutions participating in the project and the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation in Vietnam. The training program focuses on sharing the experiences of QAA experts, helping to improve the capacity of the team working on assurance and accreditation of education quality of higher education towards developing self-assessment and external assessment guidelines for educational institutions in Vietnam based on the toolkits and guidelines of the European Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA), the UK-QAA and the ASEAN Quality Assurance Association (ASEAN–QAA).
