On October 16, 2021, the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (CEA-HCM) organized an online quality assurance training course with the topic “Strategic design, building vision-mission-core values and criteria for selecting partners for benchmarking and comparing to improve education quality” for leaders, lecturers and staff of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (PNTU).
The training course aims to provide concepts, models, and methods related to strategy development and the application of the PDCA cycle in benchmarking and comparison to ensure and improve quality in the context of international integration.
The speakers of the training course include Associate Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Deputy Director in charge of CEA-HCM and Dr. Vu The Dung – Former Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, VNU-HCM.
On the PNTU, the training course was attended by Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan – Chairman of the School Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Nguyen Thanh Van – Vice Principal and 60 lecturers who are leaders, managers of Faculties, Departments, Boards, lecturers and staff of the PNTU. At the beginning of the training course, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan represented the school to speak about the purpose and wishes of the lecturers for the training course.

During the training course, participants were exposed to the concepts of strategic management, benchmarking, comparison and quality culture in the educational environment; understood the importance of strategic design, building vision-mission-core values-educational philosophy for higher education institutions and shared experiences and advanced models in the country and around the world. At the same time, lecturers discussed, analyzed and practiced strategic design and comparison criteria for the PNTU.
At the end of the training course, Dr. Phung Duc Nhat – Head of the PNTU’s Quality Assurance Department, thanked the experts and the CEA-HCM for supporting the PNTU; at the same time, he also shared his wish to continue cooperating with the CEA-HCM in quality assurance and developing the PNTU’s quality culture.
