The Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City<\/em>\u00a0Organizes Workshop “Assurance and Accreditation of\u00a0Education quality in Vietnam and Japan”<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the aim of learning and exchanging experiences on the educational assurance and accreditation of education quality (QA) with countries around the world, on the afternoon of September 17, 2019, at the VNU-HCMC Administration House, the CEA-HCM and the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA) jointly organized a workshop with the theme “Assurance and Accreditation of Education Quality in Vietnam and Japan”.<\/p>\n

Attending the Workshop, on behalf of the CEA-HCM, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Deputy Director in charge, MSc. Ho Dac Hai Mien – Deputy Director along with leaders of departments and more than 15 accreditors\/assessors who have cooperated with the Center. On behalf of the JUAA delegation, there were Mr. Jun Kudo – Director of the Association, Ms. Kazuyo Hara – Deputy Director of the Association and professors at a number of Japanese universities that are collaborating with the Association.<\/p>\n

Opening the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam presented a report on the situation of ensuring the quality of higher education in Vietnam and VNU-HCMC, issues of common concern regarding the education quality assurance system, the set of accreditation standards at the educational institution and training program levels, the training of accreditors and some results of education quality assurance activities. At the same time, she briefly introduced the organizational structure and areas of operation of the CEA-HCM.<\/p>\n

Next, Ms. Kazuyo Hara introduced and shared about the accreditation activities, the set of standards for assessing the quality of educational institutions and the training programs of the Association. With the aim of expanding relations and learning experiences in assurance and accreditation of education quality, the delegation hoped to seek opportunities for extensive professional cooperation with accreditation organizations, especially with the CEA-HCM.<\/p>\n

The workshop also listened to some research results of Professor Yukimasa Hayata (Chuo University, Japan) on the current higher education quality assurance system in the ASEAN region in general and the future development of quality assurance policies in Japan in particular.<\/p>\n

The workshop also recorded many opinions exchanged and discussed by both sides about the education quality accreditation system in each country. The representative of JUAA highly appreciated the results that the CEA-HCM as well as the education quality accreditation activities in Vietnam have achieved in the past time. Hope to continue the exchange to enhance cooperation between the two organizations.<\/p>\n

It was known that the working session with JUAA is part of the Center’s 2019 foreign affairs plan. JUAA was the first independent quality accreditation agency in Japan, established in 1947. JUAA conducts quality assessment and accreditation of universities, colleges, training programs, and provides quality assurance consulting.<\/p>\n
